Emma at Cheer Clinic

Emma went to a cheer clinic sponsored by the Southeast Polk cheerleaders. They spent 3 hours on a Saturday morning learning cheers and a routine, then they will perform at halftime of a basketball game on Friday. I think she had a blast.
Below she is at the bottom left hand corner with her hands on her hips.

Birthday cakes

My sons wanted Choo Chool cakes for the 3rd year running. Hey, at least I already have the cake pans!
Evan wanted Hiro, who is a black train. But Evan loves his mommy very much, so he agreed that Hiro could be green for his birthday because Mommy doesn't like to use black frosting.

Ethan wanted Thomas. He was happy with the artistic lisence his mommy took on his cake, since I don't like using red icing either, and Thomas does have some red detailing on him. Also, Ethan agreed that Thomas could be number 4 for his birthday instead of number 1.  The blue is a perfect match for Thomas' blue!

Party for Four Year Old Darlings

The boys completely understand the concept of birthday parties now and have been to several. So it was time to host their own birthday party for friends. They invited a friend from daycare, Brayden. They invited a new friend from preschool, Rex. They invited a friend from BamBam and tumbling, Jayden. And they invited a friend who they've have a lot of experiences with, William. Four friends and a sister!

We went to Over the Top in Pleasant Hill. It is a lovely littel ice cream and chocolates shop. They have a party room and offer tours. Sounds perfect for us!  They make their own high quality ice cream right there and have fabulous flavors. The tour allows the guests to see how they make their ice cream and participate in the process. They tailor the tour according to the audience.

Our kids got to put on hair nets, wash up, and help make some Blue Moon with Gummies ice cream. Awesome! The kids seemed to really enjoy it, did great at following directions and paying attention. They sampled their creation and then got to eat a bowl of whatever kind they wanted. We brought cupcakes  and party favors. They boys opened awesome and thoughtful gifts. The kids played for a while. Then it was time to go home and try to calm down for bed!

It was a fun time, and I am always grateful and humbled when other parents take time out of their day to do something nice for my kids, like bring their kids to our party!!!!  It meant THE WORLD to Ethan and Evan!!

Ethan didn't want to put on a hairnet and make ice cream, but he still got to sample (quality control) along the way!
